Nick Greenwood
has furniture restoration in his blood, a second generation Master
Craftsman he began learning his skills, as a young man, alongside
his father Peter, Looe in Cornwall.
He has built upon that auspicious
beginning moving on to work in his own successful and respected business
and has been restoring furniture for over 30 years.
Many people are under the impression that it is only antique furniture that's worth being restored.
Whilst Nick's skill and experience leads him to undertake most of his work on antique furniture he is always willing to repair and restore any furniture that may need it.

Some customers will asks tentatively whether ‘ it's worth doing up?' we would always say that ‘if you love it it's worth it ‘.
You don't have to be in possession of a Chippendale chair or a Victorian table, modern furniture can suffer water damage, scratching or just general wear and tear.
Nick will provide you with an assessment of the work required to return your loved piece of furniture to its former glory.
We welcome enquiries by phone there is an answer machine and your call will be returned. Customers are also assured of a friendly welcome at the workshop. |

Nowhere
is Britain’s history more visible than in its furniture. From Thomas
Chippendale in the 1700’s, through to the Arts and Crafts movement
in the late 1800’s and Art Nouveau in the early 20th century with
every style and craftsman in between, antique furniture has something
for everybody whatever their taste. Collecting antique furniture
is not only a way of defining your style but is also an investment
both historically and financially.
From
an era when so much furniture was discarded as old fashioned we
have happily reached a stage where beautiful furniture can be incorporated
into the most contemporary interiors and adds a ‘touch of class’
to every home it graces. |

The table has
been French polished with a wax finish.
Nick
prides himself on the sympathetic restoration of the pieces he works
on. There is little point owning a Victorian dining table if the
finish looks as though you have just bought it at a furniture store.
Experience has taught Nick that a piece of furniture needs to look
as if it has been lovingly cared for and used every day.

This staircase was installed for a customer in 1983 by Nick's father but remained unfinished until...
..2002 when additional
restoration work was carried out to the adjacent panelling, together
with major restoration work to the finish of the original staircase
and banisters.
